Yoga qualifies as a Wellness Program. Registered yoga teachers give regular 60-90 minute yoga sessions in your company’s conference room or gym or one-time Yoga Education Informationals. Alternatively, schedule to have a yoga teacher visit the office to teach “desk yoga,” a series of simple postures your employees can use throughout the day to help build harmony, flexibility and stamina on all levels of health.

Meditation qualifies as a Wellness Program. Experienced instructors guide students through traditional yogic meditations invoking mental and physical relaxation.

A wide variety of techniques may be taught, however, meditations from the traditional tantras are emphasized. Scientific research shows that “meditation is a most powerful way of controlling physiological reactions to psychological events.” Studies at the Maharishi Institute in Iowa demonstrate that meditation offers positive health benefits including reduced hypertension and cholesterol levels, decreased insomnia, improved intelligence and increased short-term memory. Because meditation directly addresses physical, mental, emotional wellbeing, a wellness program certainly enhances the wellness of the corporate environment.
